Electrical Choke
An electrical choke is designed to filter out high-frequency spikes and electrical noise from pumps, motors, and other onboard equipment. By smoothing the current flowing to your switches, it helps prevent false triggers and protects against voltage surges.

• Benefits: Cleaner, more reliable power; reduces stress on switches; extends lifespan.

• Placement: Install in series with the positive conductor, as close to the load (pump, motor, or device) as possible.

Diode
A diode acts like a one-way valve for electricity, allowing current to flow in the correct direction while blocking reverse flow. In marine switch systems, diodes prevent backfeed from batteries or charging systems, isolate multiple circuits, and protect sensitive electronics from voltage spikes.

• Benefits: Prevents reverse current; protects electronics; isolates circuits for safe operation.

• Placement: Near the sensitive load or switch, with the anode facing the power supply and the cathode facing the load.

Capacitor
